Your rights
If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area (EEA), or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection legislation, you have specific rights regarding your personal data. Dealogic Media Ltd. is committed to honoring those rights.
This page explains each right and how to exercise it.
The rights in detail
Right of access (Subject Access Request)
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, along with information about how we process it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
Right to rectification
If the data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to have it corrected.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
You may request that we delete your personal data where: it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected; you withdraw consent (where processing was based on consent); you object to processing and we have no overriding legitimate grounds; the data has been unlawfully processed; or deletion is required by law.
Right to restriction of processing
In certain circumstances you may request that we restrict how we process your data — for example, while we investigate an accuracy dispute or while you object to our legitimate interests basis.
Right to data portability
Where processing is based on your consent or on a contract and carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to request we transfer it to another controller.
Right to object
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or processing is necessary for legal claims.
Rights related to automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. This right is therefore unlikely to be applicable for most users of bestselling.guide.
Right to withdraw consent
Where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing (for example, certain cookies), you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.
How to submit a request
To exercise any of the above rights, contact us at [email protected] with the subject line “Data Subject Rights Request.”
Please include:
- Your full name
- The email address associated with any communications with us
- The specific right you wish to exercise
- Enough detail to identify the data in question (for example, the approximate date of your interaction with the Site)
Response timelines
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and respond substantively within one calendar month of receiving your request. In complex cases or where we receive a high volume of requests, we may extend this by up to two additional months. We will notify you if an extension applies.
We respond to all requests free of charge. If a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to respond — but we will explain why.
Identity verification
We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, to ensure we do not disclose or delete data in response to a fraudulent request. We will request only what is proportionate to the nature and sensitivity of the request.
Right to complain
If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully or have not responded adequately to your rights request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In the EEA, contact your national data protection authority.
